Ryan Palter
Vocals/Guitar
Detroit born and West Bloomfield raised, Ryan Palter's musical roots may seem unlikely for a country artist. But with generations of musicians in the family, including award-winning jazz singer sister Jesse Palter, Ryan was surrounded by music from an early age. Though his parents played Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline, it wasn't until later that Ryan fully embraced country. At 21, while interning in New York City, Ryan bought his first guitar and spent weekends honing his craft instead of going out. After a few years playing in bands, a karaoke night led Ryan to meet his future wife. After starting a family, Ryan took a 7-year hiatus from performing before the itch returned. Now Ryan has returned to his roots, assembling Dirt Road to Nowhere with some old friends. Channeling the family's musical vibes, Ryan says, "Our energy is going to be off the charts and you will end up enjoying the vibe like we will be."

John Philips
Lead Guitar/Vocals/Drums
John's musical soul shines through his guitar playing. Raised in Michigan, he first learned drums from his father's band rehearsals. Though he started on drums, guitar became his true calling. His powerful yet soulful solos and riffs channel raw emotion. A veteran of the Midwest music scene, John met singer-songwriter Ryan in 2012 and started playing acoustic shows together. He later toured with various artists before joining Corey Dakota's band. John also wrote songs with Nashville recording artists Love and Theft. He sometimes returns to his drumming roots during shows with his current band, Dirt Road to Nowhere. John says, "It's all about the vibe for me. Ryan and I have known each other so long that we often know what the other is thinking before he does. That's powerful in music."

Drums
Always sporting a smile and a sparkle in his eyes, Scottie Vining is the heart of Dirt Road to Nowhere. Known for his impeccable timing and the ability to enrich the music with his nuanced drum fills that perfectly fit the groove, Scottie's presence is both felt and appreciated in every performance.
